Integrate Bristol is a charity formed to help with the integration and adaptation of young people and children who have arrived from other countries and cultures. We offer support for young people including learning and language based projects that may involve film making and other forms of creative activities that enourage the sharing of culture and learning of new skills. The overall aim is to help young people participate in society and feel a part of the community they have joined as well as offering a platform for expressing their views and ideas.

We encourage cross cultural activities regardless of age and background to promote community cohesion and economic and social well-being.

One of our projects is tackling female genital mutilation (FGM), where victims are not only being taken abroad and subjected to this illegal practice, but also here in England, through unqualified ‘practitioners’. Laws set in place are not adequately ensuring the protection of girls from the psychologically traumatising effects of this mutilation. Therefore, much of our work involves various educational and creative projects aimed at supporting those in the community who are bravely trying to eradicate this humiliating and harmful practice. We also push for changes to the current laws and policies surrounding FGM in the UK
